WHAT I OFFER

Chemistry can feel like a subject where everything has to click at once — and when it doesn't, it's easy to fall behind fast. I work with GCSE students 1:1 and in groups to build real understanding, not just exam tricks, so that confidence grows alongside the grades.

Weekly, fortnightly, or ad hoc online 1:1 sessions matched to your exam board (AQA, OCR, Edexcel).

Each session is planned around where you actually are i.e. filling gaps, building on strengths, and tracking progress against your specific syllabus.

For students who work well collaboratively or parents looking for a cheaper alternative. I run a number of open group sessions covering many of the topics students find more challenging.

See if the topic you are struggling with is listed in the schedule.

Structured sessions working through real past papers, question by question — covering not just the right answer, but the exact wording and structure examiners reward. Ideal alongside regular tutoring or as a standalone top-up before exams.

This is a group session.

How it works

Online Platform

Sessions are held over Google Meet — a simple, browser-based video platform that doesn't need any extra software, downloads, or accounts to join. Once a session is confirmed, you'll receive the Google Meet link by email ahead of time, so it's ready and waiting when the session starts. Sessions are recorded, and the recording is shared with the student afterwards — a genuinely useful way to rewatch a tricky explanation, work back through a worked example, or catch anything missed first time round, at your own pace.

Bookings

Booking a session is simple: choose a suitable time via the online booking calendar, complete payment in advance, and your Google Meet link will follow by email once payment is confirmed. Ongoing one-to-one tuition is usually booked as a recurring weekly or fortnightly slot, so your time is reserved consistently and sessions build on one another. One-off sessions — such as an exam walkthrough or a specific group session — can be booked individually as needed.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every student is taken seriously, both online and in how sessions are run. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, certificate number is available on request. Sessions are conducted professionally and respectfully at all times, and communication with parents or guardians is kept open throughout — you're welcome to raise any question or concern directly, at any point. Online sessions being recorded (see "Online Platform" above) adds a further layer of transparency for both students and parents, and parents/guardians are always welcome to be present during a session, particularly for younger or newer students.

Safeguarding policy.

Cancellations

Life happens, and the cancellation approach is designed to be fair on both sides. Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours notice can either be rescheduled where possible or refunded in full. Cancellations with less notice, or missed sessions, are charged in full, as that time has been reserved specifically for you. If a technical issue disrupts a session on my end, it will always be rescheduled at no extra cost. For ongoing weekly tuition, reasonable notice is appreciated if a regular slot needs to change, so that time can be offered to another student.

If Protute needs to cancel a session (illness, emergency, or unavoidable school/work commitment), affected families will be notified as early as possible, and offered a free reschedule or a full refund for that session - whichever is preferred. This applies whether it's a single 1:1 session or a scheduled group session.
